Well today was very good day! The twins health is still stable but there are still a few issues of immediate concern. It is possible that both may need surgery to close a valve (PDA) that is not allowing the blood to flow thru the lungs. The doc's are using medicine to try and correct the problem first.
Some of the good news is that Clara was able to join Jake in the East nursery. They are now stationed right next to each other which cuts down on the amount of scrubbings and changing gowns. We were able to put two quilts my father made in the isolets with the babies. The twins also have two stuffs dogs (Sam and Molly) watching over them. Thanks Kate and Robert!
Well I made my first mistake as a father today, I forgot the Camera and of course Krystal was able to hold Jacob for the first time outside of the isolet. It was an amazing sight that we thought would not happen for a couple of weeks (Sorry everyone could not share in the moment with a picture). The nurse's really encourage direct contact with the parents and they hope that we can do "Kanagroo contact" in the next few days. More on that later.
Thanks to everyone for the flowers, cards, and offers to help. Also thanks to the wonderful staff of Charlotte Medical Center. They have been amazing!!
Congratulations to Patrick and Jeanine Stovall on the arrival of Sarah Elizabeth. All of the sudden holding a six pound baby is a "can of corn" for me. Thanks Sarah!!!
