Jan 21 & Jan 22
It has been a long 36 hours. Jacob's condition has declined due to infections and two surgeries to his intestines. Last night NICN staff advised us to stay close by due to his condition. We stayed until 3 PM this afternoon and they felt that we could go home and get a shower and sleep.
Clara is doing fairly well with some small setback's. They were trying to feed her "mommy milk", she had several feeding but her intestines are still under-developed so they backed off. While sitting crib-side with her and Jacob, she would cry when the nurses would give care. The crying was music to our ears.
Due to Jacob's condition, both were baptized by the hospital Chaplin. I hope they both get the opportunity to figure out their own faith later on in life. Nothing would make me more prouder than to see them confirm or reconfirm their faith later on in life.
Again I can't say enough about the staff of CMC. The nurses amaze me how they can do their job to the highest standard and still be able to handle concerned parents with TLC (Thanks Meagan, Kim, Wendy, Theresa and the many others). Also special thanks to the support staff for going above and beyond the call to find Krystal and I a place to sleep and get a few moments in alone.
